Crossed Lines:
A collection of familiar memories
Concept, art direction, cover & interior design, typesetting
Cover and interior for a self-initiated book project. At the heart of this 348-page collection is the belief that all of our lives are rich, full, and often invisible to one another. I wanted a glimpse into what family, friends, and strangers love, what we record, and, along the way, to compose an image of how we spend our lives. With that in mind, I reached out to anyone I’ve crossed paths with, even if only for a brief moment, and asked them to submit artifacts that are precious to them.
Challenge
The biggest challenge was curating, organizing, and laying out 350+ submissions from five different continents. I wanted to do justice to the intimate photos and writing that was being entrusted to me, even if it meant going through several iterations of the table of contents and ways to order the content.
